The urgency to be an active participant for a new Nigeria sparked the flame to form a socio-political group Nigeria Diaspora Action Group (NDAG).
The initial group did not hesitate to identify itself with Peter Obi’s candidacy to become Nigeria’s next President. Whilst sharing information and providing updates on the current political landscape leading up to the elections serves well, the output was largely informative for participating members. Most involvement was non-partisan; in fact the Peter Obi campaign was a movement rather than run-of-the-mill politics - The Obidients. The agenda has been simple, replacing the political landscape of Nigeria to embrace a progressive value-centred government that encourages robust economic growth and improvement of basic living standards for Nigerians.
The objective is to support the growth and development of Nigeria with specific focus on consolidating efforts that address the exigencies of the preferred party. The goal is to ensure zero tolerance for ethnic or religious bias of any form. The message must be clear to all members. NDAG are a solutions focused group with common values - the improvement of the Nigerian economy in the 21st Century.
It is prudent we identify as stakeholders of chosen party with a global outreach of members willing to participate to varying degrees and capacities. However affiliation with the any party is not exclusive as the primary focus is not necessarily the party, but ethical change with emphasis on equity, fairness and justice with a view to transforming the lives of the common man. Currently observed inequalities with lack of access to basic resources, education and privations resulting in a poor quality of life, should cease to be the norm in a society where all are equal and indeed celebrated in the spirit of a new Nigeria.
To be effective as a change agent, NDAG invests in both human and material resources through enterprise in addition to socio-political measures. NDAG Consults LTD, a registered Nigerian business arm of Nigerian Diaspora Action Group, promotes growth and development of small and medium size enterprises, identifies projects with potential to improve the lives of individuals or communities and partner with agencies to deliver sustainable services as part of an economic intervention.
